Here's How it Works

Step 1

Register your school (only takes 3 minutes!) to compete for prizes, gear, cash, and the title of National Outdoor Champion

Step 2

From Sept. 16 - Oct. 13, encourage your campus network (students, faculty, alumni, and local community) to get outside and log their outdoor activities on AORE’s app

Step 3

Throughout the Challenge, use the app’s leaderboards to see how your school is doing against other schools nationwide

Step 4

Sit back, revel in the glory, collect gear + bragging rights

Division Requirements

  1. A student coordinator to help with campus outreach and logistics.
  2. A plan for how your school will engage its campus network in outdoor activities (think: clear marketing and outreach strategy and a list of events/activities you’re going to do with your campus). Eligible outdoor activities include things like: hiking, biking, paddling, environmental stewardship, running, and more.

    *Team sports such as football, baseball, and soccer are not eligible.
  3. A letter of support from your university outdoor program or academic department.
  4. A quick few paragraphs about how you plan on bringing your unique ideas to make this year’s challenge the best it can be.
  5. Your school must have participated in the Campus Challenge in a previous year

*We only have room for 50 schools in Division I
**Teams who get their application in early will have a advantage in getting division 1 status

Selection And Notification Process

Participating schools will be announced April 12, 2019. AORE has established the criteria for the AORE Campus Challenge in partnership with all 2019 Challenge Sponsors & Partners
